Pendragon Theatre has received a $100,000 grant from the Charles R Wood Foundation toward the new Pendragon Theatre in downtown. “The Charles R. Wood Foundation is thrilled to announce its support of the Once and Future Campaign by granting a total of $100K over two years. We feel that partnering with other local foundations, as well as state and local funding, is imperative to the continued support and growth of the arts in the North Country,” says Charlene Wood, Chairperson of the Charles R. Wood Foundation.
The Wood foundation joins leadership donors including Cloudsplitter Foundation, Stewarts Foundation, Champlain National Bank, Anne Schoff, Fran Yardley and Burdette Parks, and other individuals and businesses. “The Wood Foundation’s pledge moves us further down the path toward funding a new downtown theatre, which will help revitalize the downtown and continue the 40-year legacy of theater in the region,” says Marc Gitlitz, President of Pendragon Theatre.
The Charles R. Wood Foundation was founded in 1978 and provides support to not-for-profit organizations with an emphasis on programs for children, healthcare and the arts in the Lake George Region and surrounding areas.
